SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – BusinessWest and Innovate 413 presented “Strat AI” on Thursday, an event highlighting the daily impact of artificial intelligence on the manufacturing industry.

The presentation featured members of the Western Massachusetts chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association who shared how the technology affects their operations.

The event is part of a series of local initiatives focusing on how manufacturers can use technology to their advantage. Participants discussed how AI can improve efficiency and increase shop throughput rather than replacing human workers.

Artificial intelligence applications in the sector include assisting with computer numerical control (CNC) programming. Gavin Giguere, owner and president of Reign Manufacturing, explained that the technology can significantly reduce the time required to prepare equipment.
