RISE Robotics: Featured Startup

Rise Robotics is replacing energy-intensive hydraulic actuators with clean and efficient electronic actuators, with early applications reducing energy use and breakdowns in the trucking industry.

Their latest prototype requires custom metal components for the enclosure, and they came to us for connections to a metal forming manufacturer that could thread a 6′ stainless steel tube while also milling holes into the face of it. Finding a manufacturer with a 6′ mill and a threading machine was challenging. The Manufacturing Initiative connected them with 3 manufacturers with this capability, resulting in a purchase order. They are currently testing the performance of the resulting, functional prototypes.
